This weekend, two of the major world religions are celebrating freedom.
Christians are celebrating Easter – when Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead to show that God loves us and wants us to be with Him in Heaven for eternity. Through faith in Him, we are free from eternal damnation and free to live in His grace and love.
Jews are celebrating Passover – when the Angel of Death passed over their homes and the Pharaoh released the Israelites from bondage to him. They were free from being slaves.
What do you need freedom from? Are you stuck in a rut? Working an unfulfilling job? Are you unhappy, even miserable, but fearful of making a change?
Anxiety, nervousness, and fear can keep us from freeing ourselves from the bad or mundane and moving forward to a better life. It takes a lot of courage to make a change, but so often, when we face our fear and take that first step towards what we want, we wonder why we didn’t take that step sooner.
Use this time of Spring to consider something new for you that moves you towards the people, work and “stuff” that energizes you and brings you joy. Free yourself from what drains you and keeps you from being the person you were put on this earth to be.
